"We
are not surrendering Pop Music
without a fight!" This is the motto of the Berlin based band THE SWEETS OF SIN which was founded in Adelaide, Australia, in 1985. But anyone who believes that, after over 20 years of its existence, resigned and tired gentlemen gone grey are making nothing but their niche resound has been mislead. On the contrary. After a creative break in the second half of the 90ies, in which the third album "me-ism" (KIP 8009) came into being being before the second was published *, THE SWEETS OF SIN appear, with a new line-up and with more fighting spirit than ever. Pointed, nuanced, detailed, dynamic and with lots of feeling. Cheeky and lovingly at the same time with a sense for the essential - no matter how inessential it may seem. "Chamber-Pop" out of the way of mindless Zeitgeist-ism, without a pandering attitude, and thus timeless. Nothing for mp3-freaks - because demanding entertainment need not be compressed! Thus THE SWEETS OF SIN, with their perfect melange of acoustics, electronics, mime and gesture, offer an aural feast for those people who can still trust their ears - but who nevertheless listen with open eyes. Because, since the eye is not just a companion to the pallet but to the eardrum too, the band takes care to provide appropriate visuals in their live performances, however, consciously abstaining from distracting effects. That
as a "listening gourmet" one need not necessarily be elitist
but can have fun too is impressively proved by THE SWEETS OF SIN because
it is self-understood for the band that philosophy belongs into the
Boudoir. Thus THE SWEETS OF SIN 100% intoxicate sense and sensuality.
The band nonchalantly leaves the contribution of intoxicating the
nose and the tactile senses to the audience. After all one doesn't
wish to strip the latter of it's rights entirely, in fact, especially
in this area, interactivity is expressly encouraged. In the new line-up of THE SWEETS OF SIN Mankyboddle (vox, perc, git, electrs, viol), Musehold (saxophones, flutes, midicontrollers) and Andreas Peters (drums, perc, electr, vox) blend their acoustic and electronic components more dynamically and diversely than ever. * ["We'll burn that
bridge when we get to it" - will be realeased "quasi-posthumously"

entstand bevor das zweite erscheinen konnte *, kommt THE SWEETS OF SIN,
in neuer Besetzung, kämpferischer denn je daher. Pointiert, nuanciert,
detailliert, dynamisch und mit viel Gefühl. Frech und liebevoll
zugleich mit einem Gespür für das Wesentliche - und scheint
es noch so unwesentlich. "Kammer-Pop" abseits aller Zeitgeistlosigkeiten,
ohne Attitüde der Anbiederung, und somit zeitlos. Nichts für
mp3-Freaks, denn anspruchsvolle Unterhaltung muss nicht komprimiert
werden! In der neuen Besetzung von THE SWEETS OF SIN verschmelzen Mankyboddle (vox, perc, git, electr, viol), Musehold (saxophones, flutes, midi controllers), Andreas Peters (drums, perc, electr, vox) und ihre akustischen und elektronischen Elemente dynamischer und abwechslungsreicher denn je zuvor. * ["We'll burn that
bridge when we get to it" - erscheint gewissermaßen "posthum"
